Anindita Banerji
Anindita Banerji has been writing and directing plays in three languages for two decades. This is her second book of plays after Life, Music, Action!, brought out by Writers Workshop, Kolkata.
Anindita likes to write grand musicals on universal themes. Her two largest original productions till date staged 600 people each. Anindita also writes smaller plays that present social and historical facts in the simplest manner possible. She does this not because she is "simplistic" but as an academic choice. In this increasingly convoluted world, she wishes that children and adults read her plays and form a better sense of self, culture and purpose, and that they get to the heart of the matter in the simplest manner. Gaining clarity, rather than getting mired in complications, will lead to peace and stability.
Anindita is also a professional development trainer and a public speaker. In her leisure, she writes poems for children and enjoys music, cinema and nature. Anindita is presently based in Kolkata and is the principal of a school.
