Academic turned administrator, critic, author and translator, Chakravertty is currently the Dean of Students Welfare, Diamond Harbour Women’s University.
Educated at Presidency College and Calcutta University, she has formerly taught UG and PG students full-time at Shri Shikshayatan College, Kolkata, and concurrently PG students as Guest Faculty in the Post-Graduate Departments of English at Calcutta University (2009-2016), and at the Sanskrit College and University (2019). Chakravertty was chosen to participate in an academic group project – “Strengthening and Widening the Scope of American Studies: The US Experience” in 2010 as part of the prestigious US State-funded International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP). Her monographs appear in national and international anthologies and journals. Her areas of academic interest include Gender Studies, American Literature, Academic turned Literature of the Diaspora, and Translation Studies.
